It took on minute to create to create slide show. I could use this tool to summarize a lesson- remind students of experiment they have performed in class. In other words the slide show can be used to review material. Furthermore, you could quiz the students on the photos. Our Biology teacher did that in college, it make students pay attention in class.

Flickr is a photosharing website where you find pictures. Moreover, you can search for photos by subject or tags. In other words, a picture can belong to more than one category based on the contents of the photo. For example, a picture of a marlin caught of the coast in Atlantic can have more than one tag- marlin, Atlantic, fishing, etc.. Yet, when I searched for science concepts, I did not a get hit. So, the website seems to be lacking science photos.

I never knew that there were so many tools to use the web, but I have enjoyed learning them. More than that, I have wanted to make a podcast and I did. Also, myStudents will make a podcast of the lab reports this fall. Also, I have taken thousands of picture in my classroom of students performing experiments. With voice thread I can create a storyboard provides feedback to students For instance; I could comment on students experiments that they conduct in class. Yet, I also know that the implementation of technology into the classroom can be difficult. So, I plan to slowly use the tools to make sure the I am effectively implementing Web 2.0 into my classes.

Classroom 2.0 resembles an education community- a place to go to find out what going in teaching. I saw students post a message asking for help on a report. In addition, a teacher vented about the lack of effective use of technology in K-8 education. The greatest value of Classroom 2.0 is that the focus is education. Many of the social networking sites are so big that it is hard to find an education community. Yet, with Classroom 2.0 you don’t was time trying to find your class.

About a year I purchased an I phone so that I wouldn’t have several devices- cell phone, ipod and gps. PageFlakes- with its many widgets- allows you to combine all your interest that have been spliced into many different directions. Moreover, on my PageFlakes page I could add widgets that correspond to the subject I teach. For example, I could have all the different websites for students that I have found to beneficial , such as the periodic table. In other words, they come to my site for a periodic table.

I can use google document to provide students feedback. For example, some of my students conduct science fair experiments. Moreover, I read their research paper several times. In addition, I make comments on the papers. I will utilize go0gle docs to make comments on the research papers this fall. In addition, I can generate an attendance spread sheet for our engineering club where we keep track of attendance and member information. I will give the secretary of the club access to the document so that she can update the document as needed. Thus, I can keep track of the updates she makes on the spreadsheet. Yet, my school system bocks google documents. Thus, students and I will be unable to view the documents from school.
